Confessions Tour

…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

When Madonna released her album “Confessions on a Dance Floor” in 2005, it was only a matter of time of when she would announce her new world tour. Two years after the Re-Invention Tour, the Queen of the Dancefloor hit the road  again and set records doing it!

The Confessions Tour premiered in Los Angeles on May 21st 2006 and visited North America, Europe and Japan where it ended on September 21st.

The DVD/CD of the tour was released on January 2007 and won a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video.

Press Release:

The veteran performer kicks things off May 21 in the Los Angeles area and is so far scheduled to makes stops at arenas in about a dozen cities, including Chicago, Boston, San Jose, the Phoenix area, Fresno, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Miami, Montreal and New York. A late-summer run through Europe will follow the North American leg.

Longtime Madonna collaborator Jamie King will direct the “Confessions Tour,” and Stuart Price will again be on board as musical director, according to a press release. Arianne Phillips and Jean Paul Gaultier, long-standing members of Madonna’s creative team, will respectively oversee and design costumes for the tour.

The Warner Bros. Records mega star, whose current CD Confessions On A Dance Floor debuted at No.1 in 29 countries, has already begun rehearsals in Los Angeles with her talented troupe of musicians and dancers.  With a staggering 35 No. 1 hits on Billboard’s dance charts during the course of her unparalleled career, it’s no surprise that Madonna issued the following mission statement regarding the “Confessions Tour”:  “I’m going to turn the world into one big dance floor,” exhorted the Material Girl.
