Monte Pittman will be back at Suzy’s in Hermosa Beach on February 23rd for the “Open Mic Night” but this time he will not be alone! Kiley Dean will join him on stage! Perhaps the time has come to get a live performance of “After the Last Wave” for the first time?? Stay tuned!

Lick Library announce their second exclusive Live Webcast. As well as making great Guitar Tuition DVDs, Lick Library also makes it possible for you to talk to their top Guitar tutors and ask them questions – live on the 11th February at 19.00 hours GMT.

This second real time Webcast, from the Lick Library studios, features an interactive session and live performances with Lick Library co-founder Stuart Bull. There’ll be a live chat with Stuart where you ask him questions, plus he’ll cover guitar tips and techniques. Stuart has taught literally tens of thousands of guitarists worldwide with the award winning Lick Library Guitar Workshops. He has shredded with some of Rock and Metals greatest guitarists so he will be able to give you the benefit of his considerable experience.

Another Sticky & Sweet reunion is underway! This time Brian Frasier-Moore and Kiley Dean are gonna be performing on Monday 8th of February at the Conga Room (Los Angeles, view map). Brian is playing every Monday with the FOXXHole band around 9pm! Go and check them out!

Monte Pittman is “Lost”

It may be a coincidence that the 6th season of the infamous TV show “Lost” premiered last night and that the same night Monte Pittman performed a new song at Suzy’s called “Lost” as well! Monte had the beautiful black Gibson J-200 with him and also performed “The Circle” and “The Deepest Dark” with an intro of “Like A Prayer”!.

Madonna Nominated For 2 International Dance Music Awards

The 25th Annual International Dance Music Awards will take place on February 26th, as part of the Winter Music Conference. This year, Madonna is nominated in 2 different categories: Best Pop Dance Track (‘Celebration’) and Best Solo Artist.

Votes are now open, so make sure to visit the devoted page before February 26th! Please note that you can only vote once. Multiple submissions will be disqualified.

How the Kolpakov Trio got Sticky & Sweet!

We’ve seen them in Madonna’s “Gypsy” section during the Sticky & Sweet Tour. Two 7-string guitarists and 1 violin player made stadiums sing “Lela Pala Tute” without even knowing what it means! The Kolpakov Trio consists of world-renowned soloist and composer Sasha Kolpakov, his nephew Vadim Kolpakov, and violin virtuoso Arkadiy Gips and performed with Madonna 3 songs, including their solo moment of “Doli Doli“.

Orato.com recently sat down with them and asked them everything we wanted to learn, including how they got the gig with Madonna!

Orato.com: How did you get involved in Madonna’s Sweet & Sticky Tour?

Vadim: Eugene Hutz from the Gogol Bordello band is a friend of Madonna’s and our cousin. She just directed him in a film called Filth and Wisdom. He recommended us to Madonna.
